Testing Begins

Oxford United’s first team players and staff are being tested throughout the day today as the club looks to return to training next week.

The players have each been given a strict time slot where they must report to the Training Ground. Once there they park two car widths apart and then use the hand sanitiser provided before following a marked route around the testing centre where a thorough independent test is completed.

Once the test is over they continue on their route to collect GPS devices which will allow staff to monitor their training over the weekend. They also collect individually prepared training kit ahead of next week- players will take kit home to wash each day should training resume and as well as preparing their own food they will also be expected to complete daily health checks and reports including checking their temperature daily.

Karl Robinson, who was among the staff tested first thing this morning told us:

“It was a simple enough process but it was very well planned and organised and we made sure everyone knew the rules before they came in, and what we expect of them as we go to the next phase, hopefully of training in small groups again.”
