Oxford United in the Community have joined Oxfordshire Kindness Wave to help keep youngsters inspired during COVID-19.
The initiative is a collaboration of community spirited organisations working together to support youngsters and families.
United’s charity has joined forces with organisations including Populate Co-operative, Oxford Hub, Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire Virtual School and The Alex Timpson Trust.
The Oxfordshire Kindness Wave have delivered creative parcels to hundreds of children across the county. The parcels contain sketchbooks, pens, a small teddy bear, chocolate, and soap. Planned future projects include activity packs and well-being boxes for adults.
Chris Lowes, Head of Oxford United in the Community said: “Oxfordshire Kindness Wave is an excellent collaboration designed to help like-minded organisations work together to help others.
“It’s great to be involved and to find another way to reach and engage with more families in Oxfordshire during this challenging time.”
