Following the success of our first covid-19 masks we received hundreds more requests from fans asking for a mask.
5,000 masks were initially given away to the NHS, Key Workers, local charities and Oxford United season ticket holders aged 55 and over and we wanted to find a way to get even more masks to fans but also to help raise funds for those who need it most right now.
We are pleased to announce that close to 3,000 masks have now arrived, this time yellow but still bearing the Oxford United logo.
These are available online HERE priced £11.99 for a pack of two and every penny of the profits will be shared equally by the NHS Hospitals Charity and Oxford United in the Community, who will be able to use that money to help their charity partners across Oxfordshire.
Chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth told us:
“We are so proud to support the NHS and the work that our Community team are doing and we hope fans will join us and wear their yellow masks proudly around Oxford. There may have been no games but that has not stopped us doing fantastic work off the field with Oxford United right at the heart of the city.”
Chris Lowes, Head of OUITC added:
“We’re proud of how we have all pulled together as a community during this incredibly challenging time, as a charity fundraising really does help us function and continue to help others and so this will make a difference.”
Masks can help contain the spread of the virus but only if used correctly. If purchasing, please read the instructions. Masks will be posted asap after purchase but please allow a little extra time for delivery.
