Oxford United welcome the fans back on Saturday when 1,000 supporters will be able to return to the Kassam Stadium for the first time this season.
I can’t wait” boss Karl Robinson confirmed to iFollow today. “We have missed the fans so much and it will be good to have them back for the first time, even if it is going to be totally new to them in so many ways.
“People have to understand that the staff and players have become sort of used to how it has become and although we would love to get back to what we had, in reality it is going to be something in between. It will probably be a little bit surreal, for us and for the fans.
“You’re not going to have that big crowd and noise. But as I say, we can’t wait and it’s been a long time.
“They will come back to see a team still trying to find its way against a team who are the best team in the league, since they are top. They’ve not lost many players since they dropped down from the Championship and they started building for this campaign at the end of last. They have been building and they look good, which means the fans will be back for one of the best games for them to come and watch.
“We got a decent draw on Tuesday so that’s something to build from. It took strength of mind but I was pleased for the defence and Jack to get their clean sheet. That’s a start and we look to build from that result.”
