Oxford United are pleased to announce that Canice Carroll has signed a new three year deal with the U’s.
The versatile 18-year old made a big impression last season after making his full debut and turning on outstanding performances both in defence and midfield, and has committed his future to the club by signing an extension to his existing deal.
He told us:
“It was a very easy decision. I have loved my time at the club, the Gaffer, coaches and senior players have been fantastic and I want to be part of what is happening at Oxford United.
“I was quickly made to feel part of the first team last season and now it’s a case of coming back in pre-season, working hard and listening to the people around me here on how to improve my game. I’m a local lad and it means the world to me to hear the fans singing my name and encouraging me. I can’t wait to get back for the new season now.”
Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“Canice has so much potential. He is clearly very good player but he also has such enthusiasm and a real winning mentality and we think he has a very bright future.
“He was in and around the first team in the second half of last season and is very much part of our plans not just for next season but also for the longer term.”
