Oxfordshire gets set for Wembley

#OX4Wembley is the message across Oxfordshire

It looks as though Oxford United will have the whole of Oxfordshire behind them when they travel to Wembley on April 2nd to take on Coventry City in the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.

With ticket sales already pushing towards 25,000 after just ten days of sale, the U’s are going to have another massive following as they head for Wembley for a fourth time. Memories of their Milk Cup win in 1986, Play-Off final victory in 2010 and last year’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final against Barnsley remain fresh in the memories of all Oxford fans and  the club will be out and about all across Oxfordshire to spread the word over the next few days.

Fans and staff will be heading for the city centre, Cowley, Abingdon, Didcot, Thame, Bicester, Banbury, Woodstock, Carterton, Kidlington and as many places as possible to distribute flyers and posters and chat to fans.

These are available to download right HERE: download a poster and place it in a place where you think it will get noticed, then tweet us a picture using the hashtag #OX4Wembley

We would love to see shop windows and businesses turn yellow ahead of the game:  our commercial team will also be hitting the road to come and see commercial partners of the club. Let us know how your school, college or business is getting behind the U’s.

We are also partnering with our media partners at the Oxford Mail and BBC Oxford. Look out for a Facebook Live event with BBC Oxford and a fantastic new poster inside the Oxford Mail next week.

The players will be playing their part: come along next Thursday, 23rd March, when they will be in the club shop to help you choose scarves, hats, kit  and t-shirts: new stock is arriving every day at oufcshop.co.uk Would you like to own a genuine Wembley shirt? Then call 01865 337503 or email commercial@oufc.co.uk to discuss becoming a player sponsor where you receive your chosen player’s Wembley shirt directly from him.

We are hearing of fans coming in from Australia and Japan - let us know where you are jetting in from to follow the U's

Not in the Wembley mood yet? To mark the fourth time Oxford have reached Wembley we have been working alongside Oxford music legends RIDE to stir up a few Wembley memories to their fantastic song OX4…
