There is good news on the injury front for Oxford United with midfielder Ivo Pekalski returning to the club and stepping up his training next week.
Swedish international Ivo joined the U's in the first week of the season but picked up a knee injury in his first week of training. After staying in Oxford for a few weeks for initial treatment he flew home to Sweden to continue his rehab work but returns to the U’s this weekend and should be back in action in the new year.
Manager Pep Clotet told iFollow:
“Ivo flies back on Sunday and we expect him to be back in training with us on Tuesday. He has been making excellent progress and doing some ball work already and will continue that but be out on the pitches with us.
“It is good news but we have to make sure the knee is stable and as strong as possible. But I am very confident in his recovery because he has had injuries in the past and that makes a difference in terms of the mental side of things; he knows how to deal with things. He is an excellent professional and it will be good to have him back and available again soon.”
