One More Time

Chey thanks fans as we get set for one last game in 2016

Oxford United look to end 2016 in style when they welcome Walsall to Grenoble Road on New Year’s Eve.

It has been a year of drama for the U’s with  a Wembley final, promotion and huge crowds home and away. Boxing Day’s bumper crowd was the sixth time in 2016 that over 10,000 people had been at the ground – something that had only happened 11 times in the previous 14 years.

Defender Chey Dunkley summed it up after the game against Northampton when he told us:

“The fans have been amazing home and away and we really appreciate their support. It was disappointing not to get them the win on Boxing Day but the good thing is that we have another game straight away and a chance to make amends.

“It has been a great year for the club and we have usually been able to use a defeat like Boxing Day, learn from it and bounce back straight away. Hopefully there’s another big crowd there to enjoy it.”

Start your New Year’s Eve party a little early and come along to get behind the U’s one more time in 2016
