One to tackle as we look to crown the best defender the club has known
Every week we ask for your help in finding the club's greatest ever players.This week we have a great question for you. Who is the club's Best Ever DEFENDER?
Do you go for the no-nonsense defensive qualities of a Gary Briggs or Malcolm Shotton, the power of Matty Elliott, the pace of Phil Gilchrist, or the composure of Maurice Kyle and Andy Crosby?
It's not just centre-halves though. Full backs are defenders too, so Dave Langan, Les Robinson and Bobby McDonald come into the equation. Or how about the players who showed such versatility along the back line - players like Mike Ford for example. England internationals Mark Wright, Steve Foster and Colin Todd have played in defence for the U's along with Welsh dragon Dave Roberts and the excellent Colin Clarke.
