United Women Set for Villa Test

Taylor looking for reaction as Women travel to Villa

Oxford United Women travel to Aston Villa Ladies this Sunday looking to end the first half of the season in style.

Les Taylor’s side were cruelly beaten by a last minute penalty at home to Everton on Sunday to end a three game unbeaten run, but will look to bounce back immediately against a Villa side who climbed above them in the WSL 2 table with a 2-1 win over London Bees last time out. It's the last game before a one month break in fixtures and Manager Taylor believes his side have shown extra resilience this season and will bounce back strongly from that Everton defeat:

“This time last year we had no points and we've got ten at the minute, which is a massive improvement” he says. “It just shows how much we've come on as a team. Obviously we're going to have to try and lift the girls after the Everton game, because a result like that deflates you a little bit, but I think they can be pleased with their performance on that day and I’m sure we will be looking to put that behind us on Sunday.”

The game takes place at Sutton Coldfield this Sunday, 31st May, kick off at 5pm
