Tom as good as new as United head for Mansfield
Defender Tom Newey is expected to be fit to play at Mansfield on Saturday as United look to extend their unbeaten away record this season. The experienced left back had to go off at half time in the 2-2 draw with Gateshead last Saturday after a blow to the head but has made a full recovery and is expected to continue on the left of a defence that will be without skipper Jake Wright who pulled a hamstring in the same game and is likely to be out for a month.
In Wright's absence Andy Whing will be hoping to take over the captain's armband. The midfielder missed the FA Cup game with an ankle injury but is expected to return to the squad, as will Asa Hall who was ineligible last weekend.
Striker Alfie Potter underwent surgery on an ankle injury this morning and will be out until the new year, as will Jon Meades.
Fans travelling to the game are reminded that it is ALL TICKET for United fans with none available on the day. Please call 01865 337533 to book your place before 3pm on Friday afternoon.
