Matchday Magazine draws national acclaim
Oxford United’s Matchday Magazine has been awarded three prizes for the 2012-13 season, by the highly regarded Northern Programme Club, whose own publication, Independent View, is held in high esteem by programme editors and collectors across the country.
United’s magazine came first in all three categories, winning the League 2 Programme of the Year, the League 2 Most Improved Programme, and the League 2 Best Value Programme.
Designed by Alchemy Creations and printed by Regal Litho, this season’s magazine is the first time that United have produced a perfect bound edition. Programme editor Martin Brodetsky told the website: “We are obviously immensely proud to sweep the boards with these awards and it’s an accolade that belongs to everyone involved in producing the magazine, especially our dedicated team of voluntary writers who provide such excellent content. Our aim is always to provide the best-quality product we can within our resources, irrespective of any awards, but to be recognised by a well-respected national publication is very gratifying.”
Neil Patterson, editor of Independent View, told us: “To be judged as the best in three separate categories is an outstanding achievement. I can see why the programme was judged so favourably as it is exceptional with so many positive attributes. It is packed with quality and a very readable publication.”
The next edition of United’s Matchday Magazine will be available at Saturday’s home npower League 2 fixture against Rotherham United for the usual price of just £3 for 84 pages.
