Oxford United Women visited AFC Wimbledon on Sunday and were held to a goalless draw.
United made a strong start, with Zoe Barratt just missing out on a one-on-one with the Dons' keeper Rose Kite, formerly with the U's, as a great tackle from Kelly Highman denies Oxford's top scorer.
The first half finished with the home side on top, as a Rosie Russel cross landed on top of the net before Beth Howard produced a fantastic save to tip over a long-range looping shot from Ashlee Hincks.
Howard was forced to deny Hincks again from a free kick ten minutes into the second period, while two minutes later Kite saved well from Barratt following Lucy Trinder's threaded pass.
There was late drama in the final minute of added time when Kite brought down Barratt on the edge of the area. The assistant referee indicated a penalty but was overruled by the referee, who awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box, from which Phoebie Poole shot over.
After the game, manager Sam Rose said: "We're all slightly disappointed. We want to win every week, so dropping points is never a good thing. Putting it into perspective, they've made it really difficult for us, shutting us out, and we've not created anywhere near enough chances. It was a scrappy game and we didn't get into our flow, and that was down to the opposition's work and you have to give them credit for that."
Next Sunday, United travel to Exeter City in the FAW National League Southern Premier Division, with another tough test expected.
