Oxford United lost by a single goal last night as Barnsley took all three points away from the Kassam Stadium
“It was a tough game, like we knew it would be” Captain Elliott Moore told iFollow after the 1-0 defeat.
“Conditions didn’t help, but that was the same for both teams. The first goal was the decisive one but I think we put in a good performance in the second half and really put them on the back foot. But it just wasn’t our night.
“We had opportunities to score and in the end that’s the difference between getting three points and none. I’m not sure if it was their player or Longy who got their head on the goal. If it was Sam then it’s unlucky because he was doing all he could to clear a great ball in. But we didn’t take our chances and they took theirs, so we have to learn from that and move on to Saturday pretty quickly.
“Cameron’s free kick came off the bar and if that goes in then it’s a different story, but we have to take the positives from that second half and build on that at Bristol Rovers now.
"The fans came out and got behind us, fair play on a horrible night. The rain and conditions made it hard for us on the pitch and hard for them watching but credit to them and hopefully we hear them again on Saturday and give them something to cheer about.”
