Life Lessons: Scholars Cook Up A Storm

Oxford United Academy’s Scholars were visited by ex-professional footballer turned online health coach Marc Pugh yesterday afternoon.

Since retiring from a professional career in the Premier League, Marc Pugh has been sharing recipes, workouts, and tips on how to improve nutrition in order to reach peak performance.

Marc is part of the League Football Education life skills program for the 72 EFL clubs and came in to deliver a talk educating the lads on the importance of nutrition for performance, recovery, and overall health and well-being, as well as delivering a practical session in the kitchen.

Head of Academy Player Care James Constable said

“We’d like to give Marc a big thanks for his time and knowledge yesterday. It was great to see the boys so engaged as it’s an important part of being an Academy footballer and going into a professional career.

“For the majority of the boys it will be the first time living away from home so to learn skills that will not only help them on the pitch and in the gym, but to enjoy cooking for themselves in the future and potentially beyond the game is massive.

“It was a really valuable session for them all and they all got on board and showed enthusiasm and it was a really enjoyable afternoon.
