Oxford United will wait on the fitness of Cameron Brannagan before naming their final squad for the home game against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
The influential midfielder has missed the last two games with illness but returned to training today and as Liam Manning told iFollow, it’s now a case of seeing how quickly Brannagan recovers.
“He was pretty ill for a few days so we’ll just wait and see” Liam said. “He was in a bad way, lost a bit of weight and we kept him away rather than it affect anyone else. But it was good to see him again today and we’ll just have to see how much the illness took out of him and when is the right time for him to be involved again.
“Training was good again today. We had a chance to work on a few things after the defeat at Wigan and the players were in a positive mood from the moment they reported in today.
“We are constantly working on things and striving to get better and there will be moments like Tuesday night where things don’t go our way. It's how you respond that matters and it’s good to have a home game and a big crowd against Wycombe.
"They are another side who are improving all the time. I have known their Manager a while now, he was a couple of years older than me in the youth team at Ipswich, and he’s doing a good job at Wycombe.
“But we have shown a good reaction when we have had other setbacks this season so let’s see if we can do that again.”
