Oxford United were denied at the death on Saturday as a late Blackpool goal meant the U’s had to settle for a 1-1 draw at the Kassam Stadium.
It was a result that ended United’s five game winning run but as defender Ciaron Brown told iFollow, the U’s will take the positives and look to return to winning ways when they travel to Wigan on Tuesday evening.
“The first half was one of our better performances of the season” he told iFollow. “We controlled the game and created the better chances and then at the start of the second half we were good as well.
“Towards the end of the game we kind of dropped off and invited them on to us. In the end it was another point gained but when you are in the game and winning for so long it feels like two points lost.
“We have held out in games before and won others late on but unfortunately today we couldn’t do that.
“We are always going to be disappointed when we don’t win but we have to move on now. We have a lot of games coming up, starting at Wigan on Tuesday night. We want that because it gives us a chance to put things right and turn a draw today into a win, hopefully, on Tuesday.
“We are doing well but it is still early and now it is up to us to get back onto another winning run.”
