Oxford United player turned coach Rob Hall is risking ridicule as he raises fund for a great cause this month
Rob now plays for Hampton and Richmond where he has been in fine form this season, and combines that with coaching for the Oxford United Academy, helping the Under 15s and 16s on their path through the Academy.
“It’s great to be able to do both things” he told us “but it means I am getting twice as much stick at the moment because I am doing Movember and I look ancient! I hate how the moustache looks and if it’s not my teammates having a go it’s the players I am coaching at Oxford or the rest of the Academy staff!
“I can’t believe it’s only half way through the month and I have two more weeks to go but it’s all good fun, even if the cause is a serious one. I’m trying to raise money for the Movember Conversations programme which looks to encourage people to talk about their mental health, that’s a great cause and people have been very kind.
“Hampton and Richmond as a club are all participating , mental health is a huge deal at our club , we’re sponsored by Movember and we take what it stands for seriously, always helping and being there for one another.
“I’ve put up a signed Oxford shirt as a prize for the highest donation and there are a couple of other prizes so hopefully a few more people chip in and we raise awareness as well as money for this.”
You can win a signed Rob Hall shirt or a one-to-one coaching session from Rob’s Tek7 coaching company. All you have to do is donate here: https://movember.com/m/15088137?mc=1
