Oxford United Women’s Development Squad won 6-2 at home against Watford Women Development yesterday
With no game for the First Team this weekend, focus turned to the Development Squad who sit top of the Reserve South East and Central Division.
The U’s comfortably beat 5th placed Watford, with Erin Hartigan and Lacy Liggett scoring twice, and Sarah King and Georgia Hayes both scoring to put six past the Hornets.
Manager George Anthony said
“We were really pleased with the way we went about the game today. We played with a lot of attacking intent and a lot of the pictures that we’ve been working on in training came out.”
“It’s very tight at the top of the table and Watford are a good side so it was important to get a result today. We’ve said before we want to be up there with the best teams and I’m really happy with the way that the squad have been building week on week.”
"It's now all about keeping the momentum going and making sure we prepare right for every game so that we can help the girls continue to develop both as people and players."
