The Oxford United match programme has undergone a revamp over the summer and you can grab the first copy on Saturday when the U's entertain Carlisle United at the Kassam Stadium in the first home game of the season.
There have been a number of changes from last season's offering. You will notice that we have retained the perforated rear page, only this season we are offering cut-out players wearing the club's iconic shirts over the years, kicking off with Joey Beauchamp in the promotion-winning 1995/96 kit and building into a compete 23-man squad by the end of the season. This is complemented with a new series of articles within the programme looking at the seasons those kits were worn.
Another new feature concerns those illusive 20-goal players and we focus on a different season each issue when a United player has met that target. The first player to beat that 20-goal mark was Bill Rowstron, way back in 1950/51.
Each edition we interview a player who has turned out for both Oxford and the opposition, starting with Michael Raynes. The popular centre-back played for United in 2011/12 before moving on to Mansfield and then Carlisle.
We have retained many of the features that supporters look forward to, including a comprehensive look at the day's opposition. On the Road reflects on the opening-day visit to Cambridge, while there are news and views from all round the club.
The programme still costs £4 from the club shop and sellers in and around the ground. It is also available in a downloadable online version from www.matchdayfix.com/oufc. Start as you mean to go on, and grab your copy at the game.
Subscriptions are still available. Email programme@oufc.co.uk for more information.
