Oxford United Academy’s U9 – U11 age groups spent Sunday to Wednesday on a tour to Oakham.
The young U’s played in tournaments against other teams such as West Ham and Manchester United, travelling with ten staff members for what was an excellent trip away.
Aside from the football, the boys were taken to a theme park to interact socially and find new ways to challenge themselves, as well as a trip to Leicester City’s training ground to see what an elite performance environment looks like.
Assistant Academy Manager and Head of Education and Safeguarding, Matt Jarvis, told us all about the trip
“This is the second year we’ve done this tour and we couldn’t be prouder of how the boys applied themselves in every aspect. They made it a really engaging trip for all the staff who we are all very grateful to for making it such a great experience for the boys.
“It was the first time away with a group for some of the boys and they performed exceptionally on the pitch, but more importantly socially as a group, helping each other out and creating positive memories to cherish".
