Oxford United’s under 18s had a remarkable win at Plymouth on Saturday with a last minute winner sealing a 3-2 win.
Coach Chris Hackett told us:
“As we know, an early kick off at Plymouth means you need to get your preparations right and be nice and sharp, even if you have left Oxford very early. I thought we dealt with that and it was pretty even for the first half although we conceded a goal and were 1-0 down at the break.
“But we got back into it straight away when Harrison Bradney, one of our under 16s, scored to make it 1-1. Then Gatlin O’Donkor made it 2-1 and we thought we had got the game won until Plymouth made it 2-2 with two minutes into injury time.
“The boys deserve enormous credit for their reaction because rather than just settle for a draw away from home they went straight up the other end from kick-off and Kasway Burton scored to win the game 3-2!
“Obviously having two of the under 16s score and to win away at a good side like Plymouth can only be positives and we were really pleased with the way we played.”
