We are delighted to announce some genuinely good news about an amazing young man.
Just before Christmas we worked with our good friends at Special Effect and asked fans to help spread the word to find a bone marrow match for Olcán, a fantastic seven-year-old boy who was in medical isolation.
Olcán has Aplastic Anemia, a very rare and serious condition, and was relying on regular blood transfusions to stay alive, and urgently needed a bone marrow transplant but as he’s a rare tissue type there was no matching donor for him.
That message was spread far and wide and we are delighted to announce that a matching donor has now come forward
We would like to thank every fan who helped get the message out and we wish Olcán and his family the best of luck for the future.
