Oxford United Scholars took part in a Life Lesson session with Oxfordshire based Recruitment Agency Planet Recruitment yesterday afternoon.
They were taken through a session based on transferrable skills, such as leadership, presenting to clients and working in a team.
Both groups had to deliver a pitch, as if they were selling a pair of football boots, and then did an exercise focusing on CV writing and Player Recruitment.
Academy Head of Player Care Eddie Odhiambo told us
“As part of our internal life skills programme we like to give a real breadth of opportunities for the boys. They’ve been put in situations where they’ve been forced to act part on impulse, part on their own experiences and the social side and leadership side has really come to the fore today.”
“We place really good people in front of them and they’ve used a lot of transferrable skills from the recruitment industry which can be homed in football.”
