PREVIEW: Karl on Swansea

Oxford United will look to build on Saturday’s first win of the season when they welcome Swansea City to the Kassam Stadium in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.

The U’s needed an injury time strike from youngster Tyler Goodrham to beat Cambridge on Saturday and the winger is likely to make his full debut as the U’s take on the Swans.

“ What Tyler did on Saturday was amazing and he is such a humble young man that we were all made up for him” Karl Robinson told iFollow. “When I got back to the dug-out Leon Blackmore-Such was almost speechless; he deserves so much credit for helping Tyler, but so many people do along the way. It was a very special moment and a culmination of many things.

"I have taken a lot of stick over the weekend for joining in the celebrations but everyone knows how much I love my job and it was just a build up of the whole day

“He’ll start on Tuesday, as will James Golding. James knows he has a lot to do still but he works with Craig Short every single day to try and improve and I am looking forward to giving young players a chance to play against a really top team in Swansea.

“We will have to ask for patience and there will be periods where we don’t have possession because of the way Swansea play and how good they are on the ball. But we will see, and we are looking forward to it.

“We have been patient ourselves in our first two games and we have been a little different in those two matches. We are less naive and we have more than one way of playing. We have evolved and we have different options and we will look at all of those tomorrow.”
