On Wednesday Sam Long, Karl Robinson and his wife Ann-Marie visited Headington for an activity day with Helen & Douglas House.
The local children’s hospice offers support to terminally ill children, and importantly their brothers and sisters, who can often feel isolated and alone. Helen & Douglas House provides a supportive environment where siblings can talk about what they are going through.
Ten siblings were invited to an activity day in Headington on Wednesday, when Sam, Karl and Ann-Marie joined in with a game of Hyper Dash in the afternoon, as well as talking to all the families.
During the day Karl said: “It has been brilliant to come along today and meet the children who have shown such bravery throughout their young life. Helen & Douglas House carry out such important work, it is crucial that we come and support them.”
The visit from Oxford United’s cohort was particularly special for the Greenough family, with Kacey and Grace sporting their Yellows kit, while their little sister Ella reconnected with her favourite player Sam. The right-back still keeps the bracelet Ella made for him last season
Oxford United will continue to support Helen & Douglas House throughout future events, putting more smiles on the children’s faces.
