Everyone at Oxford United would like to wish Gavin Boorman the best of luck as he leaves the Academy to join Tottenham Hotspur.
Gavin has headed up and developed the video analysis side of the Academy for the last three years and Academy Manager Dan Harris, who also leaves his role next week, told us:
“Gavin should be very proud of what he has achieved. He has such high standards and an unbelievable work ethic and fully deserves his chance at Spurs. He hasn’t just helped the players, he has also given a huge number of young staff a chance to get into the data analysis side of things. We are very fortunate to have Christian Fortuna ready to step in and cover that role, but he would be the first to thank Gav and, like all of us, wish him well for the future.”
Gavin told us:
“It has been a pleasure, it really has. All of the Academy staff work so hard and do all they can to help the players. I am proud to have played a small part in that.
“The Academy also do a great job in helping staff develop personally and the chance to join a Category 1 club like Tottenham is a great opportunity for me, but I will be very sad to leave and want to thank the club and everyone associated with the Academy. I leave knowing the future is very bright for Oxford United”
