Oxford United are delighted to announce that another talented youngster has come through the Academy system to sign his first professional contract.
Leon Chambers-Parillon,19, today signed a one year professional deal, with the option for a further year, after three years as a scholar at the U’s; his scholarship was extended last season due to the pandemic.
A stylish central midfielder, Leon helped create a goal on his first team debut at Walsall in the Papa John’s Trophy last season and has made five senior appearances. As he told iFollow, he is keen to make his mark in the coming season.
“First of all, I am so proud to become a professional footballer,” he said. “So many people have helped me get this far and I know it is just the start. To come in today and be part of the first-team squad on the first day of training for a new season is an unbelievable chance for me and I am determined to keep working hard and push myself all the way.
“I was in and around the squad last season and there is so much competition for places; I can only learn and improve by working with the senior players and the Gaffer and the coaches here. I can’t wait to get started.”
