For the first time, Oxford United will be issuing digital season tickets for supporters to use alongside their traditional season cards.
Ahead of our next home fixture against Lincoln City season ticket holders will begin to receive a digital ticket version of their season ticket that can be used to gain entry to The Kassam Stadium.
The QR code will mirror the barcode information found on their physical cards. The digital tickets will be issued in phases, with the first to receive theirs being those supporters seated in select blocks in the South Stand Lower.
As well as season ticket holders receiving digital tickets ALL online advanced Home ticket sales will be going digital for the 2021-22 campaign. Supporters are reminded to download their tickets to their smartphones where they can be stored in an Apple or Google Wallet ahead of the match. Alternatively, supporters can print off a downloadable PDF version of their tickets.
The step to go digital has come from a combination of long-term objectives to reduce paper waste and a direct response to COVID. Lee Barton, Head of Ticketing & Retail, had this to say:
“We anticipate digital ticketing will become a requirement in the future and see this as a good opportunity to phase in the technology at a reasonable pace. We will maintain the print-at-home and physical stub options for the foreseeable future but encourage those supporters who can to opt for digital.
"The benefits are three-fold. Supporters have their tickets stored on a device and minimise the risk of misplacing them. The processing time is significantly reduced with tickets being automatically sent moments after the point of purchase. And finally, it’s a small step to help us reduce our paper waste.”
