Oxford United will wait on scan results in the next 24 hours to confirm the full extent of the damage to Josh Ruffels’ shoulder after a heavy landing at Lincoln on Saturday.
The left-back took a fall during the second half at Sincil Bank and went for an x-ray on Saturday night which provided some good news for the U’s with no break or fracture confirmed.
This morning he will go for a scan to check the damage around the shoulder joint although he will definitely miss Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup tie at home to Watford as a result of the injury.
The U’s are however hoping that Rob Atkinson is available after lodging an appeal yesterday over his red card on Saturday.
The defender was shown a straight red card for an injury time challenge but United have formally appealed against that card, with the result expected later today.
If the appeal is successful then Rob would be available on Tuesday night, If not then a three game suspension woukd apply.
