Oxford United were given a boost today with Ben Woodburn back on the training pitch with the first team for the first time.
The 20-year-old Liverpool loanee has been out of action since October after suffering a foot injury at Accrington Stanley. A second injury added to his frustration but as he told iFollow. He is back and ready to go again as United enter the run-in.
“It has been difficult” he said. “I’ve never had to sit out games for so long before but there was nothing much I could do about it. The good thing is that the Gaffer and the lads here have kept me involved and part of things and I’m now back here full time and can't wait to get started.
“I was at the Shrewsbury game on Saturday and thought the lads played really well. You can see the confidence and they played some good stuff. Then today I came in and trained with them all and it felt good to be out there again.
“I’ve not had a game as yet but feel fit and will keep working hard and hopefully be involved in what looks like being a really exciting finish to the season.”
