Oxford United will resume training today after the latest batch of testing revealed no new signs of Covid-19.
Saturday’s friendly game was cancelled by mutual consent after two people tested positive in Thursday’s tests, with those two self-isolating until next Monday.
However the rest of the squad and first team staff reported to the Training Ground at 10am on Sunday for new tests and all came back negative, allowing for training today and for a possible friendly match tomorrow.
Regular testing will continue and all social distancing guidelines are being adhered to throughout the club.
Karl Robinson told us
“Friday was a setback with the two positive tests but there are going to be so many ups and downs over the next few weeks and you just have to adapt and trust in the processes. The two who tested positive had no symptoms but the health, and the health of everyone’s families, is the big thing so they will stay away this week but will be able to return next Monday.
“Meanwhile the rest of us will keep working hard, keep moving forward and make sure we are ready for the play-off games”
