Oxford United supporters who held a 2019/20 Season Ticket are now able to to decide how to use the rebate amount for the five cancelled fixtures at the end of the campaign.
Earlier this week Chairman Sumrith 'Tiger' Thanakarnjanasuth and the board made a plea to supporters to back the club during these tricky times, and as such we have put the following framework in place.
Supporters who we hold a valid email address for will be notified today (Friday 12th June) by email about the amount of rebate they are due.
Each fan who had a general admission Season Ticket has three options available to them:
1.Waive the rebate amount for the benefit of the club
If a supporter chooses this option, then they have no action to fulfil, and the club will reconcile the rebate internally. Thank you to all who takes this option, your support is hugely appreciated
2.Credit the rebate amount to your ticketing account for use on 2020/21 Season or Match tickets
To choose this option, please fill out the credit rebate form by clicking HERE
3.Request a refund
To request a refund, please fill out the refund rebate form by clicking HERE Please note, refunds will take a minimum of 8 weeks to be fulfilled.
Supporters have until 5pm on Tuesday 16th June to notify the club if they wish the redeem their ticket credit or request a refund.
Tiger told us:
“First of all we thank the fans for everything during the current season. Whatever happens it is the club’s best finishing position this Century and we should be very proud of what we have achieved. Not just Karl and his team but also off the field where we have our own Training Ground for the first time, where our Academy is in its strongest position for many years and where we have shown over the last few weeks that we are at the very heart of the community of Oxford.
“We want to keep growing and keep moving forward and most fans we talked to have said that they want to look forward and help the club by not asking for a refund. That is fantastic and helps us so much at a very difficult time.
“But also we know some fans have been hit hard by the pandemic and we want to look after them as well, so there are two other options which we hope can help them. The bond between the club and the fans is so strong and we ask supporters to help us in any way they can. If they can afford not to ask for a refund then we promise that the money will be going back into the club and will enable us to start the new season in the strongest position possible, whichever division we are in.”
We would like to stress to supporters the importance of ensuring the information submitted in either of the forms is 100% accurate, as we cannot guarantee fulfilling the credits or refunds without accurate info
For the credit and refund forms, you are allowed to fill them in on behalf of children or those who may not have access to a computer. In fact, we would encourage you to speak with those around you who may need assistance.
Supporters who hold Hospitality or 1893 Club Season Tickets are not included in the above procedure, and will be notified of their rebate information in due course. Thank you for your patience. We have put together a full list of FAQs dedicated to the Season Ticket rebate process and we also ask fans to help others if they can:
