Top Draw (But Focus On The League)

'Stay focussed', that’s the message from boss Karl Robinson as the U’s prepare for two key home games in Sky Bet League 1.

Last night saw United drawn away at the winners of a replay between Rochdale and Newcastle United in the FA Cup, but Karl told us that the next seven days are more important right now despite the attraction of the cup.

“It’s a really good draw” he told us. “Rochdale will be thinking the same as us, that a League 1 side would get through to the last 16 if we face each other, and a trip to Newcastle would be a great day for our fans at one of the biggest grounds in the country. So it’s a great draw for us, whoever we face, but right now we have Rotherham and Ipswich at home back to back and that’s all we are working towards.

“Rotherham are second in the table and in great form and Ipswich have been in the top few clubs all season so we are playing two of the best teams in the division and we want the fans to be there for us and help us keep our home form going. Can we get another big crowd on Saturday? The game merits it and hopefully some of the fans who came along against Man City, Wycombe and Lincoln at Christmas will have enjoyed themselves and fancy coming along again.

“There is a long way to go still but we have worked so hard to get ourselves into this position and we are determined not to let that go to waste.”

Tickets are available right now for Saturday’s game against Rotherham and Tuesday night’s home game against Ipswich Town. Book your place from oufctickets.co.uk and print the tickets at home or download to your phone, or alternatively call 01865 337533 to be part of another big game for the Yellow Army.
