Oxford United face a massive week with home games against Accrington Stanley and Southend United.
That’s the verdict of skipper Rob Dickie after Saturday’s excellent 1-0 win away at fellow promotion chasers Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
“Now we have a really important two home games” Dickie told iFollow after the game. “We can’t undo the work we have done in the last couple of games so it becomes a massive week for us now.”
Wins over Wimbledon and Ipswich have got United moving forward at the right time and with Matty Taylor now on four goals from four games there has been a cutting edge to some superb team play over the last few weeks
“Matty got the goal and is in good form but as a side we feel like we are in good form as well” Dickie said “It’s crucial to hit form at the right times and we feel like we are doing that right now all over, but with him around we know that if we get the ball in to him inside the box then more often than not it will end up being a goal.”
Dickie and Elliott Moore were outstanding at the back for the U’s who now look forward to welcoming Accrington to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night.
“It was tough today but we are really proud of our performance” Rob said. “A clean sheet away from home is always nice and we dug in really deep and I thought we played really well today. Now we have to carry that on and play like it again against Accrington on Tuesday.”
