Oxford United’s ambitions for the new season were underlined today when influential midfielder Cameron Brannagan signed a new long term contract with the U’s.
Cameron, 24, has been an integral part of Karl Robinson’s side ever since he arrived from Liverpool in the January transfer window in 2018 and we are delighted to announce that he has signed a two-year extension to his deal, keeping him with the U’s until at least 2023.
“I’m more than happy to be here: all I want is to win promotion and be successful with this club” he told us. “The club is set up for that and I have loved my time here so far. I owe the club a lot because they took a chance on me as a young player and I want to repay that.
“I think the fans have seen what we are about- there are record sales for season tickets and that’s amazing. I can’t wait for the day when we play in front of another full house at the Kassam or those away games where the fans are roaring us on behind the goal.
“Wembley hurt all of us but I never want to feel like that again and we have to use that as motivation. We have the new season to look forward to now. We are back in for training next week, we have added good players to a strong squad and I can’t wait to get started again now.”
Cameron joins striker Matty Taylor in agreeing a new deal with the U’s and will report for pre-season next week alongside new faces Joel Cooper and Sean Clare.
It’s all shaping up nicely for the new season. Are you ready? Season tickets are available right now from oufctickets.co.uk or by calling 01865 337533. Don’t miss out. Be part of the Yellow Army.
