There was great news for Oxford United fans today with James Henry signing a new long-term deal with the U’s.
James, top scorer for the last two seasons and leading the way again this time around, signed a new two-year deal with the option of a further year beyond that and told us:
“It was an easy decision because I have loved my time at Oxford and am really enjoying my football right now.
“It is a pleasure to come in to work every day and over the last year or so we have played some very good football, but also the club is heading in the right direction in everything I see. I am still ambitious and want to win things, and I am pleased that the club see me as part of what they are building.”
Head Coach Karl Robinson said
“It’s fantastic news for us. It's not just the goals that he scores, ‘Jamo’ is also selfless and will always play for the team, whatever role you ask him to play. He has the respect of everyone in the building and we see him as a key part of our plans for the next few seasons. It’s great to get this sorted nice and early as well and we look forward to him continuing to play a leading role for us this season and beyond."
