We were delighted to welcome a team of Wembley finalists from Oxford City to the training ground this morning.
The under 11 side from Oxford school SS Philip and James will take to the pitch against Solihull Moors in the final of the National League Trust cup on Saturday, representing our friends at City.
Today they came along to the training ground to take a look at how the U’s prepare for each game.
After a tour of the new training ground the team met all of the staff, including Chris Hackett, who has played three times at Wembley, and then Head Coach Karl Robinson who spent an hour on the training pitch with them and was hugely impressed:
“What a fantastic thing for the whole city and what a great experience for all of the players” he said. “They were a pleasure to have around today. I remember my brother playing at Wembley in a similar thing many years ago and I know what it means to everyone involved. Here’s hoping they treasure every moment and hopefully they get a win as well.”
