Kevin Berkoe Joins Oxford United

Oxford United are delighted to announce their first summer signing of 2019 with Kevin Berkoe joining the club after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kevin is a 17-year-old full back who is comfortable on both sides of defence but has been used predominantly on the left. He joined Wolves from Chelsea in 2017 and joins the U’s on a one year deal. Manager Karl Robinson was delighted to welcome him to the club, saying

“It’s an exciting signing for us. Look at his pedigree and you can see he has a lot of ability and now he has to chance to push on and force his way in to the first team here. He is quick, technically very good and I know there were a number of clubs looking at him so we are really happy that he sees his future at Oxford. He has Josh Ruffels ahead of him and Michael Elechi coming through as well so we have good competition in that position which is really encouraging."

Kevin told us:

“I was with Chelsea from the age of nine and then did my scholarship at Wolves. I played against Oxford in the under 23 cup last season and they were very impressive so now I want to try and force my way into the first team here because it’s a club that gives youngsters that opportunity.”
