Wycombe Tickets Go On Sale

Tickets are now on sale for our much anticipated home game against Wycombe Wanderers.

The game at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 30th March will be a special day for Oxford United in the Community who will be celebrating their 30th anniversary.

To celebrate this anniversary – Oxford United and OUITC have a special Community and Schools Day planned.

As part of this initiative 1,000 tickets in the South Stand Lower have been donated by Oxford United, allowing OUITC to invite EVERY Primary School in Oxfordshire to claim up to four Community Tickets to distribute as they wish – for pupils, parents or teachers.
Every Primary School will receive this invitation next week, and pupils taking part in this scheme will be in a draw to be a mascot for the day.

And what better way to celebrate Schools Day than by letting our young OX4Life members take over for a game?

Design The Programme Cover
#OX4Life Members are invited to design the programme cover by drawing their favourite Oxford United player in action - Karl Robinson will pick a winner and this will become the cover of the home version of our award winning home programme. We’ll present the winner with a signed picture of their design at the game as well. Send your designs in (A4 size, portrait) to programme editor Martin Brodetsky at mbrodetsky@oufc.co.uk

Media Day Experience
Plus #OX4Life Members are also invited to write their own match report in 150 words or less about the Scunthorpe home match on Saturday by watching the game or viewing the highlights and then send the report in to cwilliams@oufc.co.uk and our usual match reporter Chris Williams will pick a winner to come in and spend the Wycombe game with the media team where they will interview a player pre match for iFollow and also interview the manager as well as help writing the official match report.

Announce the Teams
If writing’s not your thing then don’t worry- we have another great prize on offer. Record yourself announcing the team news before a game, send it in to kfaulkner@oufc.co.uk and the winner gets to announce the team news to the whole stadium before the game!

Best of luck to everyone who joins in: the judge’s decisions will be final and all competitions are for under 16s only and open until 5pm on Thursday 21st March

Speaking on the launch of the Wycombe match, Commercial and Marketing Director Matt Everett said

“As a club, one of our key pillars is being involved in the Community via OUITC and in attracting our next generation of fans. Having recently joined the Board of Trustees of Oxford United in the Community to forge even closer links and initiatives between the club and OUITC , I am delighted that already we can work together on this initiative. To be able to invite every single Primary School in Oxford to have attendees at the match is a fantastic initiative.”

Chris Lowes, Head of Operations at Oxford United in the Community said: “This is a very special year for the club’s charity as we celebrate working in our community for 30 years.

“It’s befitting for us to partner with the club to make the Wycombe game ‘Community Day’ and invite every primary school in Oxfordshire to join us. We’re looking forward to the day and sharing in this special occasion together and various other exciting projects across the year.

“Oxford United was one of the first football clubs in the country to develop a community scheme back in the late 1980’s and it later became a charity under the EFL Trust umbrella.

“Our team uses the power of football to deliver community-based sport and education programmes that are designed to inspire and empower people to be the best they can be. It’s highly rewarding to see the difference we make in the community and we’re honoured to be part of the charity at this landmark point in its history. It will serve as an inspiration for us to take it forward for many years to come.”

In addition to this, supporters will have the chance to help OUITC with the work that they do, with collections on the day of the Wycombe match which will all go directly to OUITC.

Tickets are on general sale for this match now, by visiting www.oufctickets.co.uk or calling 01865 337533.
