Oxford United Academy Player and local lad Fenton Tutty, has this week been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
Eight-year-old Fenton, who signed full Academy registration with the club this summer as an Under-9, is a passionate OUFC supporter and has been in our pre-Academy programme for the last 18 months.
Academy Manager Dan Harris gives us more information:
“Fenton is a fantastic ambassador for our club and a magnificent young man so when his parents told us of his diagnosis we immediately wanted to stand with the family as they work through the practical and emotional challenges ahead. The manager (Karl Robinson) has already sent a fantastic message of support to the family and we as a club are committed to throwing all our resources and support mechanisms around Fenton and his parents.
"We know the whole of the Oxford United fanbase will want to rally round and show Fenton what it means to be part of the Oxford United family so it would be great if fans could donate anything they feel able to the fund-raising page which will be used to help both the family and the cancer ward where Fenton is receiving treatment.
"We are fiercely proud of Fenton and his family and will do everything we can to help them over the difficult months ahead."
