Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the return of midfielder Kayleigh Hines for her third spell at the club.
The 28-year-old joins back up with Liam Gilbert’s side after missing last season through injury but is back playing football again after 16 months out of the game.
The popular midfielder first joined the U’s in 2013 becoming an integral part of the squad – scoring nine goals in 41 games from midfield - before a move to Reading in 2015 to the WSL1. Kayleigh returned in 2017 but towards the end of the season was side-lined through injury.
Kayleigh said:
“It was a case of as soon as it happened how can we get me back on the football pitch as soon as possible. It was a lot of months of rehab but it’s a process, you have to just tick boxes throughout and I am delighted to be back, and back on the football pitch.
“I touched base with Liam over the course of the rehab and it would always be a place I wanted to come back to. I was enjoying my football, it was home before, so I’m just delighted to be back.”
This news follows four returning players last week, with club captain Lauren Haynes, Fans’ and Players’ Player Georgia Timms, Sophie Baker and Amber Roberts all playing for the U’s for another season.
