Oxford United head for Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night looking to end their search for three points on the road.
The U’s have come close to a win on several occasions this season but with two away games this week, at Accrington and then Blackpool on Saturday, now is the time to get that elusive victory, according to striker Jamie Mackie.
“At times we have played well and there have been occasions where we should have won away- just standing here now Scunthorpe comes into my head because we were 3-0 up” he told iFollow earlier today.
“It has been disappointing but now it is something we have to address. There’s no more time; we have to get a win, starting from now. We have had a tough run of games but you can’t leave your move until the last five or six games. Every player knows that and looks at the league table at this stage of the season.
“We haven’t been good enough away from home and it’s very hard to stay in a division if you rely solely on your home form- you would have to win every home match in that case
“I don’t remember playing at Accrington before so it will be a new experience but one I’m looking forward to. I like playing night games and right now we have to go and win games. That’s a buzz that I want and am still after, and we have an opportunity to go and get our first away win in the league against a side who are very well drilled and used to being together for a while now.
“As a squad we know the situation and need to get wins on the board right now. We are under no illusions that the situation has to change in matches now but we are massively up for the challenge and believe we can get on a positive run going between now and the end of the season.”
