Oxford United have teamed up with ‘On the Ball’ to provide free sanitary products for female fans at the Kassam Stadium.
Oxford United Football Club will be providing female fans with free sanitary products at the Kassam Stadium. The products will be available in all female toilets throughout the rest of the season at both first team men’s and women’s games starting this weekend.
The On the Ball campaign was introduced to increase the visibility of female football fans. Initially launched in Scotland, it has since spread across the UK, with several clubs signing up to the initiative.
Supporter Liaison Officer Kath Faulkner said:
“We are delighted to become the latest club to sign up to this great initiative and make the match day experience better for our female fans. We are providing free sanitary products not only for our first team games this season, but also for all women’s team matches starting on Saturday with our women’s game against Watford (3pm, Court Place Farm). One in 10 girls are unable to afford sanitary products and nearly half (48 per cent) of girls aged 14-21 in the UK are embarrassed by their periods, so by providing these products free of charge we hope to make the match day experience the best it can possibly be for our female supporters.”
