There was good news for the U’s this morning with Cameron Brannagan doing well after what looked a nasty injury on Saturday at Wycombe Wanderers.
The midfielder landed awkwardly and left the field on a stretcher after a nine minute delay, but this morning he was able to talk us through that moment, as well as thanking everyone who helped look after him on Saturday.
“I’m feeling fine” he told us. “Obviously everyone was concerned but I have had scans and tests and hopefully it’s just a case of getting some rest for a few days and then seeing how quickly I can get back playing.
“I don’t remember too much about it really but I saw it on the TV that night and as I fell I was clipped by a Wycombe defender’s heel and then Cameron Norman was also off balance and hit me too! Obviously that’s just one of those things and there’s no blame attached to anyone.
“I want to thank our physio Amy Cranston and the medical team at Wycombe who took every precaution and really looked after me. I went to Stoke Mandeville hospital to get checked out and the staff there were brilliant as well.
“Most of all I want to thank everyone who sent messages or got in touch to check I was fine. That was quite amazing and I’m pleased to reassure everyone that all is well and I will be back as soon as possible...”
