This Saturday, 27th October, is 125 years to the day since Oxford United was formed as Headington FC in the Britannia Inn and we have produced a special programme to mark the occasion.
Available for just £3 (with a copy of the Oxford Mail while stocks last) from vendors around the ground, in the club shop and from the Holiday Inn Express hotel, the special programme includes one of the most spectacular, if not the best ever, covers we have ever produced, featuring a selection of club legends in an eye-catching Yellow and Gold colour scheme.
The vast majority of the content looks back at the club's past 125 years, with special features and a roll call of all the players to have featured for the U's since the club turned professional in 1949. We have interviews with current player Josh Ruffels and past players Darren Purse and Peter Rhoades-Brown, in addition to all the usual features: action pages, stats, news from all parts of the club, and the Kids' Zone focusses on Northern Ireland star Gavin Whyte, with a pull-out poster.
As usual, we have produced a different cover for the visiting supporters, including notes from Shrewsbury Manager John Askey. This will be available to buy in the away concourse, with limited numbers also on sale elsewhere.
We also have an online version of the programme if you're unable to get to the game (or maybe you just prefer these modern ways). Visit www.matchdayfix.com/oufc to buy it, available from 1pm (or 9am for subscribers).
