Club saddened by the death of former player
Everyone at Oxford United was deeply saddened to hear of the death of former U’s’ winger Mitchell Cole, who sadly passed away last night at the age of 27.
Mitchell made six appearances for United after arriving in June 2010 from Stevenage. However his playing career ended when he was diagnosed with a heart condition after just a few months with the club.
United Chairman Ian Lenagan said:
“It is tragic news and our thoughts are very much with Mitchell’s family at this sad time.”
The United team will wear black armbands today at Accrington and a minute’s silence will be observed ahead of next Saturday’s home game against Aldershot Town.
