Chairman Sumrith ‘Tiger’ Thanakarnjanasuth has praised the Oxford United fans and asked them to get behind club legend Les Robinson on Monday when the Oxford United Legends welcome the Liverpool Legends for Les’s testimonial game.
“That’s an important thing” Tiger told us. “The supporters have been amazing this season and played a massive part in the feel good factor returning to the club for the last few weeks. Those that travelled to Blackburn yesterday were a credit to the club and I want to thank everyone for getting behind Karl and his players at the most important stage of the season.
“Tomorrow is a big day. We are extremely proud of our club’s history and Les Robinson gave ten years of his life for the yellow shirt. It would be great if fans came along one more time, enjoyed the sunshine on a Bank Holiday Monday and came to see great heroes from the club’s past like Matt Elliott, Joey Beauchamp and Paul Moody. Oxford had a team to truly be proud of back then and I am sure that under Karl’s management we will soon have the same thing again.
“I would also like to urge fans to buy their season tickets. Early sales are very good and I’d like to thank those who have renewed already. We are already starting to build a squad for next season and hope to have news of new players soon, but everyone who gets their season ticket now knows that they are playing their part and helping us build what we think will be a very exciting side, playing good football and backed once again by passionate fans next season.”
