Oxford United’s Walking Football continues to go from strength to strength and this week will see Manor Legend Les Robinson coming back to coach the team again.
Les, whose testimonial was a massive success last month, will be back to coach the players this Thursday evening at the Oxford Academy and told us:
“I went along and did a session a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. They have a great team spirit, everyone enjoyed themselves and it’s a pleasure to be asked to come back and coach another session.”
If anyone out there was thinking of taking up a new hobby or just wants to try Walking Football for the first time then the Walking Football team looks to provide football of a competitive nature for those who wish to compete in league matches and tournaments.
The club always welcomes players who just wish to play for fun and is a great way to stay fit while socialising and enjoying the beautiful game.
If you’re interested in joining Les Robinson and the team on Thursday, whether you have played before or just want to find out more, email kenwroe8@gmail.com
The club have also arranged a free taster session on Saturday 16th June to launch their new weekly walking football sessions for less mobile players.
This will be a played at a slower pace with no physical contact.
These sessions will continue after the launch date every Saturday from 11.00am to 12.00pm. Anybody wishing to attend this launch should also email kenwroe8@gmail.com
