Oxford United Rover Metro to be sold in aid of The Helen & Douglas House Radiothon
The U's are pleased to be helping to raise money for East Oxford charity Helen & Douglas House as part of their Radiothon.
An L Reg Rover Metro car was the object of plenty of attention when it was revealed that 'duffer of the week' in training would have to drive it for a week earier in the season!
Now the car, which has done 103,500 miles and has been signed by all the Oxford United players, is available on ebay - https://tinyurl.com/y83nmfd3 - until 4 pm on Thursday 8th March.
If you bid for this unique car on ebay, all the money will help local terminally ill children and their families who are cared for by Helen & Douglas House. JACKfm is broadcasting live from the hospice for this fundraiser for three days – 7th, 8th and 9th March. Listen in to the Helen & Douglas House Radiothon to hear some powerful and moving stories about the families supported by the hospice.
Hannah Barrett from Helen & Douglas House said “We would like to say a massive thank you to Oxford United for donating this unique car which we hope will raise lots of money to help local children and their families who come to Helen & Douglas House with the challenges they face.”
If you don’t want to bid for the car, you can make a donation to the Helen & Douglas House Radiothon by calling 01865 796777 or texting JACK5 to donate £5 or JACK10 to donate £10 to 70500 or visit their website at www.hdh.org.uk.
